A clutch is a wear item, but how long it lasts depends almost entirely on how the car has been driven. We have seen them last 30,000 miles and 180,000 miles on the same model.
On most modern cars the flywheel is a dual-mass unit that wears alongside the clutch. Replacing the clutch and reusing a worn flywheel is how you end up doing the job twice, so we measure it while the gearbox is out and tell you what we find.
Gearbox oil is not lifetime fill, whatever the handbook says. On an automatic, changing it at 60,000 miles is far cheaper than the alternative.
