The legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm across the central three quarters. Grip in the wet falls off sharply below 3mm, which is why we flag tyres at 3mm rather than waiting for them to become an MOT failure.
If a tyre has worn unevenly, replacing it without fixing the alignment just buys you another worn tyre. We check alignment free when you buy two or more tyres.

The reg check tells you when the MOT runs out and what the last tester flagged. It often changes what you actually need booking in for.
